Alan Carr, Professor

Alan Carr has a personal chair in clinical psychology at University College Dublin in Ireland, where he is director of the doctoral programme in clinical psychology. He also has a clinical practice at the Clanwilliam Institute, Dublin where he treats individuals, couples and families with a range of problems across the lifecycle. He has held numerous research grants and produced over 20 volumes and 200 papers and presentations in the areas of family therapy and clinical psychology. He is a Fellow of the Irish and British Psychological Societies and has been the recipient of a number of awards including the PSI Special Merit Award and International Research Promotion Council, Eminent Scientist of the Year. He is an associate editor of the UK Journal of Family Therapy and author of the bestselling textbook  Family Therapy: Concepts Process and Practice.
