Valeria Ugazio, Ph.D


Valeria Ugazio is both a consultant clinical psychologist as well as a family systemic psychotherapist. She is founder and director of  the European Institute of Systemic Therapies (  in Milano, where she lives. She is also Professor of Clinical Psychology and coordinator of the Doctorate Course in Clinical Psychology at the University of Bergamo where she is now Pro Vice Chancellor.

 She received her systemic training in Milano under Mara Selvini Palazzoli, her first mentor, and then Luigi Boscolo and Gianfranco Cecchin with whom she had a long-term collaboration.

She is author and co-author of 5 books and many scientific articles. Her current interests include the therapeutic process with eating, phobic and obsessive-compulsive disorders, triadic systemic thinking and therapeutic change  and the family semantics  of chronic depression
